چکیده

The presence of a distinctive multinucleated giant cell has recently been described in the s, a vial membrane in rheumatoid arthlitis and its diagnostic significance has been stressed (Grimley and Sokoloff, 1966; Donald and Kerr, 1968). Although passing reference to the presence of multinucleated synovial cells in rheumatoid arthritis was made by Hirohata and Kobay.-.s'i (1964), thle occurrence of any such cell has not been mentioned in textbooks describing the pathological features of joint diseases (Allison and Gholrmley, 1931; Collins, 1949; Copeman, 1964; Gardner, 1965). Similar giant cells have not so far been observed in any other arthritic condition in man. We have studied the synovial membrane from cases of rheumatoid arthritis and various other arthritic conditions, including tuberculous arthritis, to find out the presence of giant cells and the results are reported here.

مقایسه سطح پروتئین شوک حرارتی- 70 در مایع سینویال بیماران مبتلا به آرتریت روماتوئید و اوستئوآرتریت

Background: Heat-shock proteins are part of a strictly controlled biological system that allows organisms to respond to environmental stresses. Different proinflammatory cytokines are present in the synovial tissue of rheumatoid arthritis patients. Such tissues respond to stress and induce heat-shock proteins. In addition, synovial cells are exposed to mechanical stress caused by joint motion. ...

Bilateral Synovial Knee Chondromatosis in a Patient with Rheumatoid Arthritis: Case-report and Literature Review

We presented a female patient with RA complaining of progressive pain, swelling, and crepitation of the knee joints that was diagnosed with bilateral synovial chondromatosis (SC) of both knees. Radiographies revealed characteristic findings of SC including multiple calcified multifaceted loose bodies within both knees. Removal of cartilaginous segments as well as total synovectomy was performed...

Iron in the synovial membrane in rheumatoid arthritis and other joint diseases.

The most constant pathological feature of rheumatoid arthritis is involvement of the synovial membrane. The lesions lack specificity and vary from site to site even in one joint, but generally they show exudation and cell proliferation. The exudates consist of fibrin and inflammatory cells including plasma cells and lymphocytes. Synovial lining cells become larger and more numerous and blood ve...
